The Gibson Evolution

I've been keeping an eye on the San Francisco designer, Grant K. Gibson since he opened his firm and I like how his aesthetic has evolved over the years.  We both worked for two of the same designers, one on the West coast and the other on the East coast, and I see influences from both.  Grant's work started with tones of warm colors - ebony's and sepia's which I love, but now he adds splashes of color here and there.  The selection and placement of furniture, art and accessories are much more refined.  I'm looking forward to Grant's future projects.  This is one designer to look out for!

This Old House

So as I was installing furniture and accessorizing my farm house last week I took a few shots during the process.  Here is a portion of the living room.  This area was built in the mid 1800's and the dining room area which was the original part of the house was built in 1740!  Dining room photo soon to come.  In the next week or two we will try to dig up as much history on the house as possible.  We know so far that it use to be one of the largest dairy farms in the area and the land was divided quite some time ago.  My neighbor has the bank barn which has been converted into a house...I want it back!  Happy Thursday everyone!

Dark Nostalgia

After an exhausting but fun two weeks of moving into my farm house and my new apartment in NYC I'm happily back in the blogosphere, and have lots interesting things, odd things and of course, pretty things to share with you all.  Being in the country for just a few weeks now I've discovered so many neat little shops, antique dealers and flea markets.  I can't wait to share them all with you, and share photos of my old old house that I am so proud of.  For now, here is a great oddity shop and blog in Norway created by Rydeng Kunsthandel that is full of dark and beautiful nostalgia.  Happy humpy hump day!

The Orange Box

The Hermes orange is my favorite color and was even as a child.  The boxes have always been a great way to add a punch of color to interiors.  I know this is old news now, but to be honest I'm in a rush today and wanted to post something!  So! should you happen to have an Hermes box kicking around somewhere, here are a couple ideas of how you can incorporate them into your own vignettes.  From a single box to an excessive amount!  Happy Tuesday.

Beyond Eclectic!

This NYC apartment of Mark Reynolds and Eric Hoffman featured in this weeks New York Magazine has me very excited. The space is so mysterious eclectic and chic.  Glossy floors, stark white walls and natural curiosities with splashes of contemporary art make this space beautifully eclectic!
